Today

Today is my birthday. It was an awesome day!!! Every year seems better than the year before. I love my birthday - probably because I love all the attention! I never was really popular in school, so I really like facebook on my birthday - everyone wants to wish you a happy birthday. It makes you feel really special!!

My day started at 12:01am with Chumlee screaming over the baby monitor. I know it was 12:01am because the first thing I do when I hear her on the monitor is to see what time it is. If it is close to time to get up, I must admit that sometimes I will turn the monitor down and let her go - especially if she is just "up" and talking. When I got her, she had a nice present for me - a big ol' poop. You know the kind that is everywhere and that makes you turn on the lights so we were both good and awake. I told her that that was NOT the present I was hoping for. Thankfully, once she had on clean bottoms, she went right back to sleep.

My day began (again) at normal wake-up time (5:40) and I proceeded to make breakfast and get ready. Nana came to the house to watch Chumlee today and she brought a biscuit from Hardee's for me and some Bare Minerals make-up. The biscuit was GREATLY appreciated, because the only oatmeal left in the box was banana cream. That was just about gross!!! Chumlee LOVED it though (she would - she also likes strained squash and strained green beans). I didn't have enough time to thoroughly read about applying the Bare Minerals, so I wasn't able to wear it today. But, I have looked the papers over and am ready to apply it tomorrow! (woo-hoo).

School was great! I love teaching a larger class and for the first time in almost 2 years, I really love going to school. The stress level is WAY down and things are great!!! It's not about the presents, it's about feeling loved and appreciated. My cherubs were super today - a bit high-strung (but so was their teacher) - but super none the less. I did get a few things. A little statue thing that has a paper/photo holder at the top, some smelly (good) lotion, chocolate, a candle, more chocolate, homemade cookies for me to share with the class, a plant, and some more chocolate. They all loved the fact that I got chocolate - they were all so excited for me - precious cherubs!! Then Principal came in (just after we had finished the cookies) and reminded me that the dental hygienist was coming to visit and do a little talk about tooth health. GREAT - and here I was with a pile of birthday chocolate and handing out cookies!!

After the hygienist left (and after she gave me toothbrushes to give the cherubs at the end of the day), Nana showed up with HUGE cupcakes - piled high with icing - for the cherubs and me!! SUPER!!! What a perfect way to bookend the hygienist's visit: cookies before and cupcakes after! Seriously, though, I was very surprised and felt very special.

When school was over, I came home. Oh! Little Man and Princess had given me a chocolate rose in the morning. Big Man brought me dinner from the Japanese restaurant. He had to work tonight, so we didn't go out for dinner. We have plans for another night. I made the kids eat leftovers so that I wouldn't have to make them anything. Big Man also brought me a small carton of dark chocolate ice cream - yum!! - and a boston cream pie cake thing - yumm-o!!! Needless to say, I won't be starting a diet today or tomorrow!

I have been so blessed by God. I love my family and friends. Today has been an awesome day. I feel so loved and cherished!!

Now, off to eat some chocolate!!!
