Little Man Turns Eight

Ooopsy! That last picture didn't get turned! Oh well, if you can't figure it out, it is a pancake in the shape of the number 8. I can NOT believe that my baby boy is eight years old!!! He just doesn't seem that big. Perhaps it helps that he is less than 50lbs and is just at 4 feet tall! He still seems so small to me. He is such a sweet boy and a very loving brother. Last year when Chumlee was born, I was a bit nervous as to how Little Man was going to react to a new baby and to not getting all the attention, but he has done well. He loves his baby sister and is such a great helper!! Chumlee loves him and dotes on all that he does!! They are going to be good friends, I am sure!!

Little Man is in 2nd grade. He loves to play sports and has had a busy year of soccer - which is probably his best sport - basketball (he's getting better - he is fast and determined) and baseball. He loves baseball the most, I think. This year we have outfitted him with batting gloves and his own bat and bat bag. He is so excited!! Next year, he will play minors and the coaches have said a few times that he might be a good pitcher. Big Man was a pitcher when he played ball. Little Man also gets to play catcher this year. He almost caught a fly ball last week. That was very exciting for all of us!!

For his birthday supper, he wanted to go to Ryan's. He really likes steak, and Ryan's has added steak to their buffet. Fortunately, I had coupons for free kids meals and for adults b1g1, so it wasn't too expensive. (that place can be quite pricey for a buffet for us, because we don't eat but one plate each.) I had gone to our local bakery and let him pick out his cake. He picked that blue dragon/dinosaur cake. ICK! Too much icing for me, but he LOVED it!!! It was actually a large cupcake under all that icing so it was perfect for one.

Nana and Papa got him a new bike for his birthday. We had gotten a PS3 for Christmas and Little Man had been wanting the Lego's Star wars game for that. So that's what he got from Big Man and I. Grammy and Pappy came for Chumlee's birthday and they took Little Man shopping and he bought some sort of radio controlled helicopter. He loves it!!

Holding Chumlee, I realize how fast time has gone! It seems like just a few days have past since Little Man was in my arms like she is now. Our lives are busy and time is flying. I'm holding on as tightly as possible and trying to remember as many memories as I can - for soon these days will be gone forever.
